Whitewater Township Ambulance Service
Volunteers Needed

Whitewater Township Ambulance Service and Grand Traverse Rural Fire Department Battalion #3 (Williamsburg) are looking for people in our community who are interested in being ambulance service or fire department members. Emergency services are a very important part of our community and a strong department membership is vital.

If you are interested in becoming a member you must be at least 18 years of age and submit to a department defined physical examination, including drug testing. A background and driving record check are also required for all applicants. Training will be provided for both ambulance and fire services. Medical First Responder (80 hours) or Emergency Medical Technician (250 hours) is required by the Sate of Michigan for ambulance personnel. Fire Fighter I and II (225 hours) are required by the State of Michigan for fire department members.

The commitment is great, but if it were not for dedicated members, we would not have local emergency services. If you are interested, please call the fire station at 267-5969 and leave your name, telephone number, and a time of day that you can be reached. Ambulance service inquiries should be addressed to Gary Kiernan, Ambulance Service Coordinator. Fire department inquiries should be addressed to Randy Stites, Fire Chief, or Tim Arbenowske, Fire Department Administrative Coordinator.
